Ideation: Define the Situation

With the Responsive Innovation Approach, the first step is the Define the Situation for which innovation may be a solution. This is almost a problem solving approach in that you are trying to address a specific issue and using innovation as the solution finding tool. As with all problem solving processes, the first step usually involves clarifying and defining the problem clearly, which makes it easier to understand and hopefully solve.

Many organizations have unique methods for defining a situation and sharing it with interested parties.
